Sisters Annie and Robin Korkii found dead on bed in luxury villa in Seychelles

TWO sisters, who worked in the finance sector, have been found dead in their luxury villa in the Seychelles after a drinking session.

Annie Korkki, 37, who worked for JP Morgan Chase & Co in Denver, and 42-year-old Robin Korkki, who worked as the Head of FX and Metals at Allston Trading in Chicago, were found
unresponsive in their room by staff at the Maia Luxury Resort and Spa in the Seychelles, Africa.

Police declared the sisters dead at the scene.

The pair, said to be healthy and experienced travellers, were from Eden Prairie in Minnesota. They had arrived on September 15 and were originally due to leave on September 22, but decided to stay on.

“From the observation done by our police officers, there was no disturbance in the room and the two sisters were found unresponsive on the same bed,” police spokesman Jean Toussain told Seychelles Nation, adding that there was no sign of violence on their bodies.

“What the police can say about the investigation so far is that the two sisters were consuming alcohol throughout the day,” he said “and the last time they were seen drinking alcohol was at around quarter to seven and they were helped to their bedroom by hotel personnel at around 8.15pm,” said Mr Toussaint.

This was the last time the sisters were seen alive.

“The family is in shock,” brother Chris Korkki told FOX 9. “Everyone is trying to understand and come to terms with what happened.

“We’re devastated and saddened and just looking for answers.

“Two things keep going through my mind: This isn’t happening, and we just want answers.”

Chris said his mother and brother were in the Seychelles to help in the investigation however they could and to bring his sisters home to Minnesota to be with their family.

A memorial fund has been set up to pick the sisters home. On the page it is written: “Robin & Annie unexpectedly passed away together while vacationing in Seychelles Africa.

“Their untimely death has left many all over the world saddened and undoubtedly heart broken.

“Robin & Annie were loving sisters and best friends.

“They were loved by many.”
